Stamp book - box for stamps in the shape of a book which is hinged at one corner so that the stamp containing tray swings in the same plane as the book's covers. The book's covers are of leather, with 'Stamps' printed on the front in gold.

Stamp boxes, or separate containers, date back to soon after the introduction of the first postage stamp in 1840. The boxes were made of metal – precious and base, wood and leather-covered solid material. There were also folders, small envelopes and inserts in wallets and diaries.
