Letter from Thomas Penniman, curator of the Pitt Rivers museum, to John Hutton, thanking him for a review in Folk-Lore.
[printed] From the CURATOR, PITT RIVERS MUSEUM
UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD
[handwritten] 11 February 1942
My dear Hutton,
I am grateful to you for your review of the Rector's book in Folk-Lore. It is a splendid affirmation of the value of the men & principles that I value & believe, & try to follow. Sometimes I marvel that it has been my privilege to know intimately for years the breadth & serenity of outlook of our own trinity, & to have some knowldge of your own giants at Cambridge. It's a grand old guard!
Thomas Kenneth Penniman (1895-1977) was an anthropologist and Curator of the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford.
