Description

Letter from Raffaello Lambruschini to Montani.

Inscription

Translation:

Dear Montani

Would you have a look at the enclosed sheets (papers) before they are sent on - don't let the bulk (mass) frighten you - everything reduces down to a scrapbook in which Milesi has indicated the corrections made in his (her) book and the reasons for those not made. It is not importatn to look at the book except rarely; and the scrapbook is small. On the other hand, in there Milesi speaks sometimes precisely to you and you would like to give some rude reply in addition to the one I have already given.

Keep everything until I come which will be the 20th or 21st. I also asked a bookseller if he would have printed the letters which Milesi is translating and he gave me a reply which was not very favourable. I do not know what reply you recieved buy I think it better (..indecipherable...] or some bookseller of Milan.

Goodbye until tomorrow or the next day or so.
