Philip Poole, widely known as 'His Nibs', was as charming a person as you could hope to meet and he had one of the finest collections of pen nibs anywhere together with a multitude of writing paraphernalia of all descriptions. He had an encyclopaedic knowledge of nibs and their manufacturers and I learned more from him during lunch hours when I was working for the French bank than from many of my collection of books on writing and writing equipment.
